band camp is over. in fact its over for the j2s. no more band camp anymore =( i feel so sad. really. but on the other side, im happy too. because you guys enjoyed band camp =D i admit i din do much of the planning. in fact i only did a teeny weeny lil bit. credits go to christofle. so dun thank me ok. i'll feel guilty, if u hav to b grateful, b grateful to christofle.

my objectives of this camp were 2/3 fulfilled. its only this discipline part. i find ppl asking for bandroom keys from me halfway throughout band practice jus to enjoy themselves. i mean if we are a band, y shld evryone out there train so hard and a few ppl in the band room enjoying the air con playing card games. if the ppl guilty of these see this, to you : as a fren i dun feel angry or anything, cos i can't do anything to change you, to make you more hardworking and self-initiated. but as your band president, i have evry right to reprimand you, embarass you in front of everyone. but i did not cos i'm still your fren no matter wad. try to understand my difficulties k?

i hope that band camp I and band camp II will forever be etched in our memories, how we enjoyed ourselves for the block catching session during band camp I, number guessing game we jus played few hours ago during band camp II, the american pie band camp movie we watched, swing girls(actually swing girls really portray wad our band is facing ALOT, say 80% similarity? go figure out). also remember how we bonded, the SUPER NICE food. the sectionals that seemed everlasting, always tough but nevertheless fun-filled. last but not least, times when we strived towards syf hands in hands, bearing the intensity of the many many hours of training we had todae and during band camp I together, not complaining(im vry pleased), paying much attention and all.

ok enuff of serious talk. im tinkin of forming an alumni for jjcsb u noe? like, an alumni would benefit jjcsb a great deal. firstly we are a source of advice, thn we can fill in and make up for the lack in number during some band practices. and finally we can have a concert of our own. im really bent on doing service for jjcsb all the way till dunno whn. but juniors, feel sad that we seniors are stepping down after syf and won't b coming often for band practices. in fact not at all for some ppl. but fret not, cos evry yr we'll hav a party held for the seniors stepping down. a bbq or wadsoever. so i hope to see all of u there ok?

im back again. my wish for today is that more seniors will come to this blog and post entries and dat more members will read. =)

ok back to reality. im really grateful to alex who has been giving his all to band too. i see him almost evryday afta sch, in the band room, conducting sectionals for his section, tryin to improve himself. i tink if there's another post called president's president. he would b the one. can the other sls b like him too?? if we are all like that, or at least all sls are like dat thn the possibility of us doing well for syf would b high. but at this rate where i see even committee members are not vry interested to improve themselves in terms of playing, thn this would mean doomsday. band is not all about just playing from the score and skipping the parts that you can't play you noe. where's dat solid determination to skip band practices to study for tests!! put it to good use now. be determind to master your parts well. if anyone needs me to be around to teach, just ask. i'll gladly be there to help k?

j2s im sure u would wan a good memory for ur band life. especially for those who are sec 2s(in mr tay's term). j1s do well and giv the seniors an enjoyable time during syf and this training period.

anyway band camp is this friday so i hope to see everyone there. i would b delighted to see ppl skip tuition classes for band ;) just like wad i did the previous band camp. lol. k im off to study for chem test. FULL MARKS!!. bye all.

uhh another interesting fact. todae there was this new eupho dude dat the commonwealth gang brought along wif em. thn he like keep asking isit dat im not coming for band practices tmr and isit i always dun come for practices. ok la i dun blame him for his ignorance cos afta all its spreaded by word of mouth. no one noes the truth. but humans tend to b like this, commenting bout someone else even before he noes dat person. but its rather insulting tho, since ive given my all to band for the past 1 yr or so. sucked at studies and improved a GREAT deal at eupho playing music making. tried to come up wif new ideas to liven up band practices, tried so hard to improve attendance although to no avail only up till now. but the attitude and effort stil cant b seen. mocked by teachers and frens for sucking at studies so badly, reprimanded too many a time by family, many more. or isit dat altho ive given my best, dats all i can do which appears slack? or jus dat my efforts dun reflect upon the band, jus individually. i still feel upset about it wheneva i tink bout the impression of me in some others is slack, caused the downfall of band(mite b true tho). come on ppl, its ur turn to motivate and encourage me already.

we all noe syf standard this yr is tough, high, sky high and wadsoever. like i tink the number of golds for secondary schools can b counted wif jus 2 hands. work hard ok??!! this entry is jus a comment from me, not anything else. so dun read if u dun wan tho. but anyway uve already read the whole of this entry, too late for any regrets. ^^

ok since im so free and sleepless now. i shall start off a lil.

i repeat this again cos this is vry important. a vry basic principle we hav to abide by. to pay attention. how can musicians not b able to pay attention. if u dun pay attention, u wouldnt noe whn the conductor is goin to start the music. dun say mr tay talk too much crap or wad, i bliv wadeva he says is in relevance to wad we are going to play for syf, not crap at all. pay attention next time ok? christofle corrected me todae dat i shldn't use the word hope, use MUST instead. but since u all are such grownups i wun interfere in ur behaviour. we aint any military band or wad. jus a performing group. decide upon urself if u wan ur behaviour to reflect upon the impression u giv others. there are sum ppl im unhappy wif, who dont turn up for practices, come as and whn they like, TALK whn mr tay speaking.. LOUDLY summore. wad attitude. utterly horrible behaviour displayed. no manners!

counting down from todae, we have 30 days remaining. 7 practices with mr tay and countless sectionals. these 7 practices wif mr tay is really limited so do make sure u come for these practices cos he is the only one capable of pointing out our mistakes cos me and christofle, even anyone else would not b capable of such professional judgement. 7 practices is really limited huh. SO make full use of this countless sectionals to perfect ur parts, make it flawless at least. i havent seen a full band sectionals on non band days yet. i WANNA see dat ok? attendance is not really a problem now, cept for this one person you should noe who you are. so wad's left is effort, prove it in sectionals pls, so dat i cant take some load off my mind. my results like U S S U S. help this poor dude here pls. i hav to stay back until an average of 6.30 evryday in sch leh.

also evrybody pls participate actively in band practices, since u all love talking so much so y not talk to mr tay whn he talks. u mite b able to learn things from him. who noes he mite hav so much he wanna teach but since no one bothers, so he dun bother too. other than talking to mr tay relevant stuff, AVOID talking to other band members during practices regarding ur personal stuff like wad u ate, gossips(especially eupho section hmph!), tests, wadeva!

ive decided to go the extra mile to motivate the band. i'll take up a lil of my free time at home to blog HERE. regarding band stuff. alrite? so i hope u guys also give me some of your time, read this blog and comments. there's many things i need to noe bout u all, bout the band, so i can improve altho we j2s dun hav much time left in band. but i'll fully utilise it. band leaders for batch 07, whoeva is brave enuff to take up the challenge, tink bout it k?

Band Camp Photos

APPEALING TO ALL MEMBERS

ok im here for a small talk. syf is nearing on. its on the 11th of may and time pasts fast. its like i was counting and it was 14 weeks to syf. now that i count again, its only 8 weeks more to syf. how fast. like i was wondering how am i going to get all the band members to come for band practice and start getting serious real SOON. be in the mood for syf and all. i dun even sense the urgency in band members and im like so damn worried.

firstly, i havent gotten a bronze in my band life before. 2 silvers and this time i have high expectations of myself and band. i want at least a silver. and i hope for a gold. with our potential we should be able to get at least a silver. thing is, people aint practising hard enough to achieve the gold standard. the band is always at least a silver band in my heart, a potential gold band if we start to get serious soon and a confirmed gold band if we had gotten serious long ago.

secondly, i take it upon myself that if band doesnt do well, and doesnt achieve its minimum standard. then i must have not been a good leader, definitely not capable enough to face the outside world, much less pursue my passion for music.

all selfish reasons. but i also do hope that WE could set a record or at least maintain the band standard. all these would reflect well upon our testimonials u noe? not mine especially jus cos im the band president. i dont believe in the need for leaders. unless we musically-abled people need someone to lead on the music. we all come in together at the conductor's first stroke of the baton isnt it? so why do we really need a leader.

i was also mentioning to someone else about this. that if i can't even get my good friend to go for band practice and not skip it for tests, all the more i would not be able to get the rest of the band to do it. appealing to all band members, please have this mindset. if you DON'T go for band practices to so called "study" for tests and stilll want the band to improve, then why don't you take the first step. like consider this. tests and exams don't prove your abilities AT ALL. it is your attitude and moral values that make your worth. why be someone who agreed to come for band camp, handed in the consent form, and in the end dont even turn up, dont reply to messages, dont even inform us that you're not coming. ultimately its your own shame, being unable to face me having to avoid me, unable to face your section mates and your fellow band members.

come on band, pull yourself together and start getting motivated. why have i been failing tests and exams and worrying for band for nothing. please do my failed tests some justice and show me results. =(
